The Crawford Hotel

Denver, Colorado

The Crawford occupies the upper floors of Denver’s Union Station building, a landmark that first opened in 1914 and continues to anchor the heart of the city. Its revival in 2014 transformed the station into a mixed use transit hub, cultural destination and boutique hotel. The Crawford opened that summer as a natural extension of the station’s renewed purpose, welcoming guests into a setting where history feels both present and refreshed. With one hundred twelve rooms shaped by the station’s long story, The Crawford blends the romance of early rail travel with the clarity and comfort of modern hospitality. Classic rooms borrow their proportions from the building’s original office wings with tall ceilings and generous windows. Pullman rooms sit on a newly added mezzanine and recall the tailored intimacy of vintage sleeper cars. Loft rooms rise into the former attic and feature exposed timbers and vaulted ceilings that bring an airy, urban character. Each room category carries a distinct personality while contributing to a unified sense of place. Set above the lively Great Hall of Union Station, which now serves as a public living room filled with dining and retail, The Crawford places guests directly within the rhythm of downtown Denver. The moment you step through its doors you move between the pulse of the city and a hotel experience shaped by thoughtful design, local pride and a deep respect for the building’s past.

Denver Union Station

Denver, Colorado

Denver Union Station is the historic heart of downtown Denver and one of the city’s most enduring civic landmarks, seamlessly blending transportation, hospitality, and community life. First opened in 1881 and rebuilt after a fire in 1894, the station played a central role in Denver’s emergence as a rail hub of the American West, welcoming generations of travelers, settlers, and commerce through its iconic Beaux-Arts façade. Over time, as rail travel declined, the station fell into disuse—until a visionary public-private effort set the stage for its revival. That transformation culminated in a comprehensive restoration completed in 2014, which carefully preserved the station’s architectural character while reimagining it for modern urban life. Today, Denver Union Station functions as the city’s primary transportation hub, connecting Amtrak, light rail, commuter rail, regional and local bus service, and the direct rail line to Denver International Airport. At its core, the soaring Great Hall—often called “Denver’s living room”—serves as a welcoming public space filled with locally curated restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and boutiques, alongside the 112-room Crawford Hotel housed within the historic structure. Surrounded by activated plazas, public art, and a highly walkable neighborhood, Denver Union Station has become both a gathering place for residents and a front door for visitors. More than a restored building, it stands as a symbol of Denver’s past and future—honoring its railroad heritage while anchoring downtown’s continued growth, connectivity, and civic identity.
